History of Missouri Horse Auction Sales Inc.

To know Clell Osburn would be to know cowboy charm and a world-class horseman. With a wealth of knowledge and experience that came from many years of ranching, training, and selling horses dating to his childhood, Clell started a equine commission company in the 1970's during a period of time that he was training quarter horses and Missouri Foxtrotters. This company was called the Missouri Horse Market. This on-site horse sale was held monthly at the old Stockyards off Division street in Springfield, Missouri. Clell ran his sale as a family operation along side of his wife, 3 daughters, and employees.
In 1985, Clell joined forces with his son-in-law, Dwight Glossip in partnership and they continued under the name of Missouri Horse Market. This monthly sale was held at Nixa Livestock until it was sold in October of 2003. This didn't stop the duo and their family from continuing their auction! They secured their new business home at Springfield Livestock Center in January of 2004!
The business of bringing buyers and sellers together as a commission company continued to thrive at the Springfield Livestock Center. From 2004 until 2007, the sale continued to carry the name of Missouri Horse Market. After the passing of beloved Clell Osburn in 2007, Dwight and Melodee, Clell's daughter, incorporated the company into Missouri Horse Auction Sales Inc. as they continued monthly horse auctions. In December of 2024, Dwight and Melodee lost the location of their long-standing business.
HOWEVER, this has brought the birth of the new ONLINE BIDDING PLATFORM where Dwight and Melodee will continue to carry on the legacy of Clell Osburn- REPUTABLE COMMISSION COMPANY THAT BRINGS BUYERS AND SELLERS TOGETHER THROUGH TRANSPARENCY AND HONESTY!

Ashley now is a Sale Operations Partner and digital creator for MissouriHorseAuctions.com. Lauren is also a familiar face as she has been the online internet representative of our on-site sales the past 2 years.
